Anal Plug Question

My husband and I have always had an active anal sex life, but we've recently made a conscious decision to step it up a notch. Our preferred lube is coconut oil, I guess mostly because it's organic and smells good and we're both very oral. It has served us well so far. Anyway, we have decided that we want to try me staying plugged at all times except sleep, bathroom, and during sex. So my question is how often should I reapply lube, and should I switch to a different lube for long term wear? Don't know if this is going to work out long term or not, but willing to try.
