Wednesday, February 3, 2010, 10:20:05 PM- Nonononono
So my dad calls me this afternoon to tell me we got a bill from my school for 681 dollars *sighs* It's not that we DON'T have the money, we DO, or at least we always manage to have it when we really need it, but dad still has all sorts of bills to pay and it makes me feel awful I can't contribute in any real way because while the new website I'm on is great, lots of fun and a real confidence booster, it's not TONS Of money, it's just a little extra pocket money to help pay for groceries.

So I go to the registrar to ask what's going on with the bill because what I thought they were doing was billing me for something I already paid last semester. I end up running around for thirty minutes from one spot to another, but everyone was trying to be so helpful, so that was the biggest relief. Finally I get sent to the business office. I go there but financial aid is closed and I'm practically slamming my head against the wall, until a guy in the office asks me my name, I tell him, and he gets on the phone and the door to the financial aid office opens. Thank goodness.

So I get in and they literally section by section show me whats going on.

Basically, Florida is cutting the financial aid to everyone by around 250 to 300 each. Deceased veterans took away some 300 dollars, florida bright futures took out about 285, and the FRAG took out 18 from everyone. In the end, it totaled 681 one for me. Fuck. So it made plenty of sense, but why? *Wail*

Couldn't they have done this NEXT semester when I wasn't in college and my parents didn't have to dig into their pockets again. I mean, they say they don't mind, and they sound sincere, but I still feel like crap.

Mom informed me they'll get it back later on though, when they're older and I'm taking care of them lol I figure when I get back home and get my job and some real income again, I'll take them out to dinner more often. Then so deserve it.

Wednesday, February 3, 2010, 12:15:53 AM- SCORE!
So to graduate I have to do Senior Seminar, where I find some topic in psychology that interests me and do a huge ass paper on it. I'm actually super excited, I LOVE research papers! So I decided to do my paper on why some people chose to rely on religion based treatments (such as prayer and exorcism) rather than actual medical treatments that are proven if not guaranteed effective.

SO! For this paper we have to have at least ten sources, five of which MUST be peer-reviewed, which means that they're in scholarly journals and have been looked over again and again by others in the psychological community and given approval or edited and whatnot. Well I've been having trouble finding most articles in general but I've gotten a few nice sources and then today I went back to see which actually ARE peer-reviewed. I thought I didn't have any at all, but it turns out I have TWO!

Three more to go :3

For the record, I LOVE interlibrary loan. I wish I'd known about this years ago. I used to think of a database didn't have the fulltext of something I was just stuck.

In other news, Spirit club and I are butting heads, or rather the president and I are and we really shouldn't be, we usually don't. She was just driving me insane last night. I was teaching a new song and we discovered at the end of it all that there were TWO versions of the song we're doing, both of which are very different. So the other interpreter and I are trying to figure out which song to use while the club president just talks and talks to her friends. I tell her she can let the club go if she wants since there's really nothing we can do until we pick a song, and there's no point in them just sitting around for another thirty minutes. So she nods her head, says sure, and then continues talking to her friend. About ten minutes pass and I tell her again she can let them go, and finally she does so. Then after another ten minutes of her talking to her friends the other interpreter and I tell her she needs to come over and help us pick which song. She's the president, we want her approval. And she says: "Oh yeah sure! But real quick," and comes over with her friends and leaves the two music pages and goes to facebook, saying she has to show them someone.

Earlier that day she called me out on the fact I don't plan on being there a lot this semester, to which I reminded her that I told her LAST semester that I'd be out a lot this semester and only available to interpret music and help out now and then, because it's my LAST semester, I literally can not afford anymore college, so I gotta make sure I pass Senior Seminar (which decides if I graduate or not). Because of Senior Seminar and Psychology of Religion and Disorders in the Media, I'm literally writing papers most of the week and I want my attention focused on them.

Besides, most Spirit meetings are just the older people in the Deaf Education program talking about their day while the new kids wonder why we never do anything but talk for the first thirty minutes to an hour.

So then the president says that I've got to be kidding her, she's an education major and is interning and SHE still finds time for the club.

Oi. I understand what she's getting at, Heather's interning this semester too AND doing big brothers big sisters AND taking 18 credits AND doing a lab AND working about 20 hours a week at her job. Compared to her my life is a breeze and it's true. But unlike Heather and the club president, I'm paying my own way through college, and I don't have the money for more semesters. I'd LOVE to stay longer. My Psych of Religion teacher is doing a summer course on the Psychology of Superstition, but I just don't have the money for room and board and the classes. =/

So I just wanna make sure I got all my bases covered with my most important classes. Spirit comes second.

Thank god for the second interpreter. She told me to go ahead and leave and that she'd let me know what the resulting song was. Good thing too. It took them another hour to decide because the president was talking to her friends. I would've been out of the club in time for bed.

Monday, February 1, 2010, 8:58:23 PM- Just delivered her ass
to Ash in Uno. Apparently the Uno god is on my side. First time around took maybe thirty minutes of fun and girl chat, the next time I didn't even pick up any cards. Third time was maybe fifteen minutes, ish. I win. :3 Was nice.

All around it's been a pretty gosh darn good weekend, despite Ash's habit of asking me to get her up at a certain time and then not doing so. I taught her how to use facebook and so all her friends and family are happy to see her back on again. I also downloaded AIM so we can talk to each other more often on it.

We even had a little fun together on the other website and made some extra funds. Hella fun.

The mocktail. Wellllll... =/ It's the english department. And considering I came in during my junior year. So the people in sigma tau delta were already friends with each other, but it was a little embarrassing to take Ash there. They weren't really interested in talking to new people. So Ash would walk forward some and interact with a group, then you could physically watch the bodies shift and block us off. And at one point we'd move into a room and either it was just perfect timing or the new people really weren't welcome, but the entire group was literally migrate out at the exact same time xD

So Ash said screw it after thirty minutes, walked down George Street together in our dresses and went to a nice Italian restaurant instead, got some desert and coffee, which proved to be a lot more fun. She and I have never been good at the 'rubbing elbows' things.

Now it's basically time for me to return to schoolies. I've got a few more articles for my senior seminar and an essay to write for psych of religion. Tonight I'm teaching a new song at spirit.

So...all in all, despite some of the general drama online, it's been a REALLY good weekend. I'm excited for the 14th now :3

Monday, February 1, 2010, 6:19:38 PM- For the sake of just wanting to put this mess behind me...
And enjoy nn the way I USED to...

Just to be perfectly clear!
The one fellow made a statement on my blog I took for rude but was nothing more than informing me via, in my opinion, loose and sarcastic ways, that my advertising was against the rules. I responded in kind with a snippy little response blog and private message letting him know it was fixed. He apologized and said that he didn't mean to come off harshly, but in turn my response was rather harsh as well. I responded by apologizing for being harsh. AMIDST all of this was another internet war going on and frustrated with it ALL I posted a blog (indeed to both, I admit and am sorry) that stated that I was sorry for hurting His (their) silly feelings.

I apologize for my childish behavior and hopefully now we can all just go back to posting nudie pictures of ourselves. I'd LOVE to put an internet fight away. There's nothing more annoying than one.

To be clear: I apologize. =)

"Well... lol a tiff. But even a tiff I can't stand. They just add unneeded drama to the site and I'm sure he's got better things to do with his time than deal with a sarcastic college girl and I've got better things to do than tiptoe around him in each blog."

Friday, January 29, 2010, 11:00:24 PM- It's all good now
It's all good now. We discussed it and mapped out the rest of the weekend, including how long she'd most likely be sleeping (for certain now). So I have a general idea of how the rest is goanna go, and I feels better now. Lol

Friday, January 29, 2010, 6:06:16 PM- ffs...
So I'm at Ash's, which is great because I love hanging out with my best friend, but the fact that our sleep cycles are radically different is starting to get on my nerves and I've only been around one day. u.u;

Basically I go to sleep around midnight-1am, she can't really sleep until 4-5 am. So I've been up since 11 waiting for her, and she TOLD me to get her up at 11 and it's now 1ish. So like... I went in and asked her if she wanted to get up and go get breakfast and she says 'not yet' which could meant another hour or two and I'm ready for food now.

So I'm thinking in another hour I just go. I don't feel comfortable rifling through her kitchen for food and I've got a starbucks gift card, so I'll probably head there and get some coffee and a croissant or something. But Christ, if my entire weekend is going to be waiting for her to get up so she can go to class, then there might not be many more sleep overs x.x

Tuesday, January 26, 2010, 2:54:03 AM- Good?
So I'm really tight on money, like really tight, and I hate that I keep having to look to my parents for help. So I've been hearing a lot about these webcam sights where you just nude model and whatnot and get paid. And I thought hrm, maybe. So I went looking around and found some sites that looked okay. One was offering about a 60% cut, which isn't bad, but you have to apply with pictures so it's likely I won't be accepted. Another is free and easy to join with no application, but you only get a 20% cut, not nearly as good.

So... *shrugs* We'll see what happens.

Sunday, January 24, 2010, 6:25:34 AM- Augh >.<
I might have buggies in the room. Lame. I was just hanging out in bed today and something flew on by, this little thin bug with wings. It lands on my chair and I kill its ass, because bugs aren't permitted. Then a few hours later I see another one on my beg. I'm scured it might be termites, so I sent in a maintenance request with an "urgency" of preferably one day. So hopefully they'll be in Monday or Tuesday at the latest. I really can't stand the idea of bugs like that being in my room. I've been doing so well about keep that kind of paranoid phobia down. I see a bug in the bed and 'psh no big deal.' But THEN I'm in bed just relaxing and watching family guy and there's a damn WING.

Ugh ._. this is an epic fail. I better not see anything else tonight, but I probably will shake out the covers of the bed.

On the positive side: this upcoming weekend I'll be staying at Ash's (SHE only has to deal with fleas, gawd, we all have our buggies). Anywho, we'll be going to a mocktail (a cocktail without the alcohol) Sunday night. Sigma Tau Delta's hosting it and I figure I should be more involved with my honors society. This is pur-obably the best way.

P.S. Bugs suck.

Thursday, January 21, 2010, 9:28:13 PM- Boo!
So the girls in the room next to mine (not my suitemates) were being INCREDIBLY loud and it was getting SUPER annoying, because I'm trying to find peer reviewed articles for my senior seminar paper and having a horrible time doing so too! So finally I go over and knock on the wall and there's a bit of silence, then a returned knock. So... I'm a little MORE annoyed they don't get the hint as they start talking super loud again and start a slow repetitive knock on the wall and then drag my nails down it, then start knocking again. Suddenly I hear one girl say 'oh my god, is that like a ghost? Do we have a ghost?' because it's St. Augustine and the place is rumored to be haunted. Granted, weird shit goes on occasionally, but nothing scary or bothersome. If there are ghosts, they're pretty cool.

Anyway, these girls are knock trying to get a response message from the ghost and start asking it to knock again. I wait, then start knocking, and hear them shriek about how creepy that is! So I start playing with them more (because now I'm having a LOT of fun) and trying really hard not to laugh my ass off. They ask that if it IS a ghost to please knock again so I get them a nice set of knocks and they freak out and there's some 'shut up!'s and 'shush's down the hall. Well I give the girls some time of silence as they're telling another girl about who walked in about what's going on, and suddenly I drag both nails down the wall and I hear them all SCREAM and go running out into the hallway.

LMFAO!!!!

I haven't had THIS much fun in so long! Then the girls across the hall from me tell them to shut up, so the girls I've been playing with run into their room and start telling them what's going on. I'm eavesdropping, of course. What's cracking me the fuck up is that they're describing EXACTLY what I'm doing. One even said: "It was like nails dragging down the wall!"

And none of these girls seem to think for a second (as I do every night when I'm feeling a little creeped out myself) that they're in a DORM and that someone probably lives RIGHT BESIDE THEM!

Oh god, I hope they come back and make more noise. I could do that for HOURS! LMFAO!!
