I have found that sometimes it's better not to say anything at all than to anger or lose a friend from too much honesty.

Case in point:

I have a friend who comments on everything I say, whether it's relevent to the situation or not.

Just speaking to be heard is not conversing... I know you're there.

It pisses me off when you do it, and makes me not want to talk to you, unless I open up a can of vocal kick-ass!

I love honesty if it relates to what I'm saying, but sometimes? It's like the old saying...

discretion is the better part of valor.

After visiting three cemeteries and seeing the deplorable conditions this year by all of the caretakers (an oximoron in this case!), I was saddened. I even had to pull weeds from around my Father's military plaque. The grass everywhere looked as though it hadn't been cut in three weeks. Shame on them all!

Took a little break from my movie marathon to bitch. Now I need a laugh:

I'm starting my annual Memorial Day movie marathon a little different this year.

I had a chance to record an Australian movie a couple of days ago: from 2010, "Tomorrow, When the War Began". Sort of reminded me of the old American movie "Red Dawn" with Patrick Sawayze. Almost all of the actors in this movie are now starring in other things. Great young cast!

Tonight it will be "Saving Private Ryan". Tommorrow, the complete "Band of Brothers"... before and after I visit family and friends at three cemeteries.

Oh, and Tighty? I'm not inviting you to this years' festivities out of respect for your distaste for war movies.

After waiting for a train, I was driving in the usual traffic slow down. While cruising along at 20 mph, I noticed a residential street sign... Hemlock. Can you imagine someone saying "I live on Hemlock".

I have a male friend that I like to kid because he lives on:

Dicks.

In 1976 I was playing poker at a friend's house one Saturday night with a couple of other guys. It was the usual... drinking beer and listening to rock-n-roll.

This time was different though - my gf and two of her friends showed up, did a few shots, then wanted to play strip poker. My gf was hot, and herb friends were, too.

Yes... we began to play, smiles all around.

Eventually, everyone was down to their undies... everyone but ME! I'd never had such hot hands before (or since, lol), and boy was it frustrating! I lost one sock and shoe - that's it.

Everyone was laughing, because I couldn't even cheat and lose. Finally, my gf was the last of the others to lose her panties. I thought everyone would pair up, that at least I'd get a sympathy lay from my gf.

Nope... one of the girls cranked up the music and everyone started to dance. I thought, "fuck this, I'm getting naked!".

Wrong again! My gf and her friends wouldn't let me... seems that was my punishment for winning.

Finally, couples disappeared into other parts of the house, leaving me and my gf alone in the living room. She started dancing again, moving around the room, and every time she came close to me she kissed me and took off one bit of clothing.

At last I, too was naked, and showing how much I enjoyed watching her dance and strip me down. We made love on the floor while Slow Ride played on the stereo.

I heard that song again today in my car, and a big happy grin stretched across my face. What a wonderful memory for a Sunday afternoon!

I wonder what she's doing now, and I wonder if she smiles when she hears that song play.
