Thursday, January 24, 2008, 10:00:36 PM- Everything quiet on the Eastern Front
Yep today was a pretty slow quiet day I suppose. Did some preventative maintenance on the a couple of the small commercial buildings I do service work for. More or less the owner of the building doesn't trust the renter to change their own filters. Not completely uncommon since it is a commercial building and they have 5 or 6 units to keep up with. I don't complain though, easiest kind of money to make. Had a guy call about his refrigerator too. Now I am completely capable of fixing those, but throughout my experience its really not worth it. Once you find out what part it needs you almost always have to order it because each refirigerator has its own set of specialized componets that make it all work. (everyone knows the universal parts don't usually break, it'd be too easy that way) Anyways, like I was saying its not worth fixing because you have to order the part, wait on avg a week for it to get in, mark it up to retail, and charge labor on it. By that time the customer 99% of the time doesn't want to pay for it, especially if the refrigerator has a few years on it. Its more or less become a market of if its broke then throw it away and buy a whole brand new one. Of course there are the cases of the stainless steel side by sides that cost out the ass to begin with. Those are probably worth fixing but if we're talkin ure regualr over-n-under refrigerator you can get em at appliance direct fairly cheap. Lot of the same goes for window units and such but on a rare occasion will take one in the shop and put a lil effort into it and make it run again. All just a matter of the parts being more expensive then then appliance when ya got it in the first place.

Wednesday, January 23, 2008, 9:52:31 PM- Never know what to put for titles...
I figure it'd probably be best to answer the questions in the next blog? I think?

Soooo to MD, I was born here yep and have lived here all my life. Although, both my parents were born in Ohio and they moved down here before they had my sister and I. So in a way that doesn't make me a "true" Floridian but I've not known much of anything else. Last time I seen snow was in Ohio when I was aboutttt 10 or 11 years old I think.

Smo4 lol. I am not sure exactly when I'll post pics. Maybe sometime soon but then again I've had this account for ages and not got around to it sooooo we'll have to see. Not like you're missing out on toooooooooo awful much anyways tongue.

Worked on a 16 year old a/c today. It was an older stubborn man who owned it but he works as a maintenance guy for one of the religious schools i do a/c work for so he's a decent guy all things considered. I explained to him that the average life span of an a/c in the state of florida is anywhere between 10 and 15 years. He had a leaking evaporator coil sooooo it was a semi-large repair for a residential unit, financially anyway. Quoted him the price of a new coil vs the price of a new indoor unit vs the price of a new complete system. I explained the warranty situations and everything to him. To make things short the cost of replacing the evaporator coil was right around half the cost of getting the inside enitre inside piece replaced. (what we call the air handler) He still decided to go with the coil though... I'll be interested to see how it all stands up for him as we get on into summer time. Not saying that I didn't repair it to the best of my ability ect ect. There are just a million other things on it to break besides that.

All things considered everything went well today, got some paper work out of the way this morning too but there is still a mountain of it. I'm sure as everyone knows, its just that time of year. I have no doubt that I'll get it done though, just not something I completely look forward too. Its been gettin up to what seems to be 80 here during the day pretty regularly, if all this keeps up I might got to the beach this weekend or something. We'll have to wait and see how things play out.

As I said in last blog, questions are welcome on pretty much anything. A/C advice to personal questions to whatever happens to float your boats haha. Either way I'll more than likely be in chat lil bit later sooooo adios til then.

Tuesday, January 22, 2008, 10:10:51 PM- Soo yeahhh
Fun day back at work today! Set up another account with a local A/C distributor so I don't have to drive clear out to Orlando to get replacement parts for this particular brand of unit. Then they wouldn't do like I asked or planned to do in the first place and ended up having to drive up there anyways lol. Ah well, but got everything filled out with them. The manager doesn't look too much older than me and doesn't look like he has much in field training. You can always tell the ones who have just got done "reading the books" per say. Either way maybe I'll look into buying more things from there. Kinda have to see how things go I suppose.

On a different not had 43 views to my blog in one day and was kinda surprised especially since it was an NFL blog lol. Not neccessarily that I write it specifically for someone to read but others thoughts and opinions are welcome. Truth be told I guess, I could just have the conversation in my mind if I wasn't looking for someone elses opinion? Dunno, I'll have to think about that one.

Umm readers are allowed to ask questions I suppose? Lol so if ure wanting to know something about me or what I do or whatever feel free to ask. I think I'll keep it short today and see what happens later on.

Monday, January 21, 2008, 4:09:47 PM- First Blog....
So yeah this is my first blog, and I have to say its going to be more or less about the the NFL. I am purely tired of hearing Giants fans going on and on. Sure they were an "under dog" team and they pulled it off. Then I heard them going on about this "Joes" vs "Pros" ordeal. As if trying to add insult to injury. Making the Giants to be just regular old people and everyone else they were playing hardcore professional athletes.... This is utter bullsh!t. The Giants have best pass rushing defensive line in the entire NFL... They have an ancient blood line in their quarterback who have always turned out great... Archie.... Peyton. Granted Eli may not be as good as his older brother, he certainly isn't unknown. They have one of the best recievers in the NFC in Burress... who has been headlined more than once. To my knowledge they have the biggest active HB in the entire league with Brandon Jacobs who is bigger than a lot of the line backers out there... Lets not forget to mention Jeremy Shockey who although didn't play this weekend is one of the main names that comes to mine when you make any reference to a Tight End.... Yet these are all Joes... not buying it sorry.
Why are they in the playoffs in the first place.... If you look at all the games they won the best they played was... The Redskins? Not to mention they lost to them their 2nd time when they played. Sure Buffalo and the Lions were tough too but other than that their schedule was easier compared to a lot of the others. What consistantly Great Teams did they beat this year in the regular season? If you were too take the time and look at their schedule last year the faced a lot better opponents... Jacksonville.... New Orleans..... Seattle. To go along with division rival Dallas and because of that they were an 8-8 team last year. Yet again they STILL made it to the play offs last year.. Lookin like some real "Joes" to me. If you were looking for a Real "Joes" team this year you might should have looked toward the Miami Dolphins.... or a team with a brighter note The Browns even the Lions?
Like I said the Giants played well in the cold weather and were able to beat Green Bay. If you were to base the game on pure "big names alone", looks like the Giants have more. What other big names do the Packers have other than Favre and maybe they're press corners? Driver maybe? Although I think we can all agree that Driver is no Burress.
They beat the Cowboys you say, What about that? I heard someone who said a guy from the practice squad was covering T.O. If memory serves me right T.O. has a high ankle sprain and was playing injured. "But Terry Glenn came back!" you say. Yeah he played about as well as anyone else would after not playing for an entire season. In the end though... the Cowboys had a chance to win it. Just as in the end the Packers had a chance to win it.
I had no reservations going into that game on any particular winner, sure I wanted to see Favre make it to another Superbowl. Nothing overwhelming for either team though, but I felt the need to point these things out to all of those Giants fans saying Joe's vs Pro's... Insult to Injury ...
On a different note, I will see how this blog thing goes over to see if I want to continue it. I know this may not be the correct place for an NFL rant, but bare with me and I'm sure I can come up with something more interesting in the future.
