Wednesday, October 27, 2010, 1:26:40 AM- Okay I'll try this again... piggyblog lol
New addition to the famil, a squishy nosed lil large white/landrace, duroc/pietrain... My kinda critter, a heinz 57 lol.

She's ten days old now and growing so fast its almost visible to the human eye lol.

Above pic she wasn't even a day old yet... This one she's a few days, learnin the bottle... A few days after that she was drinking out of a bowl. Smart piggy!

Yes she got a bath the first day home, if anyone has been inside a 2000+ head pig barn you can imagine how ripe she was.

I really liked her this size sad It was fun to do things with her like stuff her in my sweater and go shopping lol.

NOW she's too big for the sock sweaters I made. But isn't so cold anymore so doesn't need them.

When she's out she's constantly on the go. Bubbles is wondering wtf is going on here.

She's my scuttling lil cloven hooved shadow, helps me do chores and makes me more chores to do

Sis lent me my nephews old playpen. Hey she knew she'd lend it to me some day, just didn't realize what for LOL

Tuckered out lil pork chop! Being lazy with me on the couch today. She's like a toddler, naps, eats, runs AMOK, naps, shits, pees, shits, naps, shits... etc

She's pretty much litter pan trained... If she's confined she keeps it in her pan, when she's out I have to watch her cause she sneaks her bum into corners.

"She's adorable. And that smile melted my heart. Had a gf who moved out of state and wrote me she had a baby pig. By the time I got to visit she was HUGE and I mean HUGE but she thought she was a dog and walked my girlfriend to the school bus every a.m. lol"

Monday, July 19, 2010, 1:00:17 AM- Choking on all the things I wish I could say...
... I read a quote recently in an article that kinda struck home and it got me thinking, as I tend to do too much already...

"communication is the key to a sucessful life"

So where the heck does that leave me? And the thousand of others like me.

I know I'm not slow, I didn't spend too much time in the birth canal, I wasn't dropped on my head, I don't have F.A.S. and let alone that's how others treat me because I can't say something simple like my own name when asked. I can sometimes blather on about random thoughts, but when asked to repeat them I hit a clusterfuck. Ask me my address, my name, where I live, where I work, etc... Words I can't 'choose' out of and I'm left gasping for air and waiting for the moment when my jaw will finally relax.

I spent my life trying to hide, to be invisible, because then chances are no one will put me in that position. I can slip past a group of people and try to make myself as uninteresting as possible, takes me right back to high school.. "Are you new here?" "Uh no, I've been going here for five years".

I'll tell a joke once and it's actually really funny, but if asked to repeat myself (uber annoyed at those who can't listen the first time) and I"ll say "nevermind". Or just trying to start a conversation and the first syllable is stuck, somewhere between my teeth and my throat... The prospective listener usually not even noticing that I am in verbal torment, so I just abort... Save my breath for breathing and move on. As well as save them the alienating discomfort of watching someone inexplicably choke on their words, literally.

I won't phone relatives I'd like to keep in better touch with. I know they don't judge, they love me, but I'm just hard to understand and being the one to make the first move I'd be expected to 'own' the conversation, instead of taking the easy side as listener "uh huh, oh yeah, interesting"... btw I am a great listener :-/

I won't even phone my mother on her land line, because now she lives with her boyfriend and I might chance have to talk to one of the other house occupants. I'm glad she got a cell smile

My husband, the most helpful and loving man I've ever known... He's my voice a lot of the time. I'll half tell a story and knudge his arm to finish it. He'll order food for me in restraunts, with discriminating looks shot by the waitress ("Can't she choose what to eat, what a sexist jerk"wink. Little do they know he's HELPING me, not controlling. I'm not easily controlled, as anyone who knows me understands lol. He phones and makes appointments, organizes bill payments, even calls my work when I'm sick (which I'm sure they think it's cause I'm to wussy to do it myself).

If hiring me, DO NOT expect me to train people, without having to deal with my resentful attitude. Uh, especially for 11 dollars an hour.

I have tons of interests that could take me in various directions as far as carreer path is concerned. Animals are my #1, and they make it easier for me. They don't judge, critisize, tell me "oh it's okay, you sound fine to me"(argghh, hate that), they aren't impatient, they don't question or confuse or put me on the spot. They do bite sometimes, but that pales in comparison by the 'bites' I've been on the receiving end of, so many times. I'll get scarred up by a mentally derranged rottie any day then have somebody mock me or laugh at me, especially in front of a group... YES IT HAPPENS, quite often. So because I'm so limited I'm stuck working for 11 whole dollars an hour, for a company who treats their employees like disposable diapers. A dead end position any half wit can fill after one day of training. Then what? Another dead end position for a year, then another, and so on. Just as it's always been.

People wonder why I run. I think some think it's weird. I wonder why they DON'T run, how the hell do they deal with lifes stress and frustration? I try and be the best I can at the things I like to do, maybe I'm compensating for the things I can't. Someone might envy me because I can wear a bikini, or run around the block without dying, take the stairs etc... But they are being envied as well, moreso... I work my damnest to feel comfortable in my own skin, it's physically hard but mentally simple, efforts are equally reciprocated by results... I only wish the same can be said about speech therapy.

But when one doesn't try, one is DEFINTELY not going to see any results. That's a given. I'm sick of choking, and I'm sick of hiding from the monster in the closet. I completed an intensive therapy program provided by BCAPS (british columbia association for people who stutter) back in 2003. I let myself slip soon after the program was done, and I ended up just where I began sad With only myself to blame of course... I'm going to aim for the same type of program offered by ISTAR here in Edmonton... I think the intensive course for this year is over, which means I will have to wait til next year. Maybe they have some kind of group support program for now. All I know is I'm driving myself bezerk, and I'm sick of feeling like someones disposable diaper.

Maybe sometime my friends will just LOVE me, not in spite of anything. No one will tell me how 'cute' they think it is or that it doesn't bother them or that they don't even notice. I NOTICE, and obviously that's what matters.

A fascinating painting by a fellow stutterer, whom I think also suffers from other disabilities.

Congratulations, if you made it though all of that blather you truly loves me or you are really bored! lol

Tuesday, March 30, 2010, 7:39:14 PM- Well, my intuition works for a reason lol
I didn't think now was a good time for a puppy, my friend found homes for all her lil ones so that's good. My sister had a bull mastiff who she got rid of because she had no time for a dog... Plus he was a cat killin/critter ravenous jerk. SO she gets a puppy, yes a puppy. She's got no enclosure for a puppy and she also works fulltime... Fuckin hell! She should have kept the first dog that was hit by a car and she had to let the vet hospital take ownership because she didn't want to pay the high bill... He was an awesome dog and loved his boy. But that's a whole other story.

I went to her place for dinner the other day and visited with my nephew and his new pal "Bernice", a pitbull/rottie (I think they lied about the rottie, she looks like a brindle lab). I dunno wtf she's going to do when Bernice gets a bit older and into that insane juvenille hyper stage and starts clawing the hell out of her kid.

I did agree to bring her to work with me, for socialization and training. She's not going to get any of that being left alone at home all day. I'm not gonna get too attached tho, cause when sis realizes she can't have a dog, once Bernice gets too much for her and her toddler, I'm not going to take her on cause when I am ready to get a puppy I want a shepherd. But at least she'll be trained and marketable to a good home.

In other doggie newz: I've been busy as feck at work, the other lady who worked same shift as me plus half days, she quit so all the stuff she was doing during her half days I have to cram into my regular schedule. I'm a bit annoyed, being a kennel hand I like to prioritize my time with the dogs who need it, NOT with mopping the feckin floor or cleaning the damn bathroom.

I've been taking our notorious bad boy jogging with me, he's a Dutch Shepherd (most georgous dog I ever seen), and that's a bit of a high maintenance breed, being stuck in a little kennel all day and only going outside for short spurts isn't enough for him. He's got a weak hip and the vet told my boss to start runing him, but I'm the only one around who runs... So good thing I happened along lol. He's sore tho, I took him for a 40 min run when I should have eased him into it gradually. So I just take him for 15 min at a time of walk/jog intervals. He loves the attention anyways, still bites me sometimes when my arm is in the way of him trying to attack one of the other dogs through the fence lol.

Working 12 hr shifts sure poops a chick out, taking 13 dogs outside and back inside three times a day and washing everything a billion times a day takes it's toll. I'm always so happy to come home to my mangy farm mutts, "MY doggies!!" I don't get paid nearly enough though, and I'm sure that topic will arise someday. For now I'll just do the best I can for all the nutty bark barking doggies. I think they are impressed with me so far, considering I handle the two 'crazies' no one wants to go near. Although the one rottie wants to eat me for lunch, I think he has a screw loose. I can feed him, but that's it, last time I went in his pen he took the sweater off my back, i'm not one to argue with 100 lbs of teeth so I let him have my damn sweater, he thought it was a great doggiebed.

Thursday, February 4, 2010, 7:17:29 AM- I knew it would happen once them friggin critters landed...
A good friend's Great Pyrennes was preggo, and I've always been a huge fan of the breed and her dog in particular is the sweetest thing ever. She thinks it was from a Malamute down the road, dog was always at their place and he was in tact. Another dog that was in tact lives with them, he's young and they think he didn't know what 'it' was for yet... But you never know. He's a mutt mix, shepherd something rather...

SO, I think "Okay, I have three dogs I don't NEED another dammit" But lo and behold, of course I go there a few times since and get quite attached to one of the females. She's so quiet and cuddly, you pick her up and she falls asleep in your hands and snuggles. THe others are more squirmy and loud, but she seems to love the cuddles.

Here she's getting weighed the second day of life...

all the puppies in her 8 head crew lol...

another few that I really liked...

his color is cool, sure he's gonna end up silver, he also looks fluffier/thicker than my girl.

this one is a sweety too, loving his color as well... I'm not going to officially pick for a few more weeks when their personalities develop more.

Ya ya ya, I know I got three dogs already. I've always wanted a puppy to start from scratch and train/socialize the way I want it. I also have a job where I could bring it to work with me, and also get a hand with it's early training from my boss I'm sure. Mr. Puss is warming up to the idea, so he agreed to go there with me now and then just to see how they are growing and what their temperments are like etc.

smile!

Just a lil Spidey update... I am lucky enough to be friends with his new owners. SO, with that entails visitation and first option at buy back rights (in case she ever has to sell him). He's doing awesome so far, she's got him on a lunge line, he's worn a saddle a few times etc... Too young to ride yet though, so they are taking all the proper groundwork steps with him.

I'm going to take Mr. Puss with me next time I visit him. He's going to be BESIDE himself with how big and georgous this gelding is turning out to be. He looks SO much like his momma, but taller. We kinda hope they sell him one day, but I don't regret selling him... Cause they love him very much and are starting him out properly.

Not bad looking for the dorky 2 yr old stage

Outside pics are better lol

The big pretty head, finally growin into it lol

He spent much of his time looking for treats, hey I didn't teach him that lol.

Suckin up the lovins

Monday, December 14, 2009, 5:18:21 AM- Horsey xmas pics
I was screwing around on picnik and made some cute festive pony pics lol.

I tested the waters with picnik with this one of Dancer, actually taken in June lol...

Bella a few years back, Spidey was freshly weaned and she was still a nutso pasture ornament. I thought this one turned out pretty cool

Xmas Diesel, I have lots of him actually dressed up in xmas garb, but thought I'd stick with the pic editing theme.

Mr. Puss's daughter decorated the tree today and we watched the old school christmas movies, so I'm starting to feel a bit better. Warming up into this christmas crapola lol.

Saturday, November 28, 2009, 1:36:32 AM- OH yeah, Halloween this year...
Was REALLY awesome fun! The best Halloween I've ever had, and we didnt have to pay up the arse for tickets to a boring swingers party full of fuglies!

Friends of ours invited us out to their place for a big bonfire to do. Them an the house beside go all out with graveyards and 8' tall gargoyles lol. So we pulled the new fifth wheel over and parked it right in front of the house and handed candy out of it. Wasn't many kids (gee thanks to HYPER paranoid parents afraid of the big scary H1N1). But we sat by the bonfire in our costumes and drank our faces off all night.

I had a fantastic time handing candy out and scaring kids lol. We had pumpkins lit by the camper stairs and in the windows. Our costumes were freaky skeletons and they actually turned out pretty damn good lol. I painted the bones onto black tight clothes. Mr. puss is tall and lean so he looked pretty fitting for a skeleton.

It was really fun hanging out with the kids and checking out their big stashs of candy, our camper is fackin awesome and we love pulling it places, instead of driving home after drinking.

I hope next year we can do the same thing, cause I really loved handing candy out to those lil rat bastards. You can't help but feel like a kid again, and that is exactly what Halloween is all about.

Wednesday, November 25, 2009, 11:25:29 PM- Proof pigs are smart
I keep the barn cat food in one of our lockers at the front entrance of the barn, up high on the shelf and I keep the door closed. To keep all the rest of the critters out of it.

Until one night I hear some tin sounding knocking, I was busy riding so I didn't bother going to see anything. Then I heard something spill and Mr. Puss chastizing Courtney (gotta love her growly defensiveness lol). The friggin pig nosed the locker door open and she knew the food bucket was up high on the shelf, so she bunted the lockers until it eventually bounced down to the floor... Offering her a smorg of lil crunchy morsels.

Since the weather has been the shits, she doesn't go outside but has NO problem entertaining herself other ways.
