So who was the greatest drummer of all time ?
Does it have to be past tense? We have been blessed with many great drummers…..is it possible to choose one?🤔

Air drummer...me of course, always been a Phil Collins fan but technically maybe he isn’t
(2 years ago)
Maybe not of all time but I'm a fan of Danny Carey of Tool. When he hits a drum, it stays hit!

Good on a drum kit but I wouldn’t say one of the greatest

My vote goes to Neil Peart...saw Rush in 1978 on their Farewell To Kings tour and by God half the stage was for Neil Peart gear

Steve Gadd. Richard Starkey. Bernard Purdie. Vinnie Colaiuta. So many fabulous drummers in their own right, but Bonham was KING

Richard Starkey, maybe I dunno. When asked if Ringo was the best drummer in the world, John Lennon replied that he wasn't even the best drummer in The Beatles! laugh

I was waiting for that response. Lol! However, his peers such as Dave Grohl still rate him highly

For me, I'd say John Bonham but so many have laid the groundwork for new upcomming drummers. You have to respect those who created magic throughout the years with music. Not just drummers --

But drummers are my favorite.

back in 1842 there was this little know camanche drummer, not a great tune but hell of a beat grin
(2 years ago)
I can't believe I overlooked Bill Kreutzmann, & Mickey Hart!

For me "greatest drummer" is someone who has changed the way drums i.e. music is played to this day.
