Don't listen to them two ^. When I was a mod NN paid me around $500 a month, give or take depending how long I was online. I think you should become a moderator. You'll love it.

They get a lot of abuse, questioned, ignored, vilified. But the real people of NN with no agenda value their time, free time, for no reward. I do think at the very least they should be gifted premium.
